Early Beginnings...
Jeff Pedersen
President and CEO
Jeff has been CEO and President of Del Sol, L.C. since 2003 and has worked in various capacities for the company since 2000; including Intern, Store Manager, Director of Sales, and VP of Sales and Marketing. Prior to joining Del Sol, he spent several years working, serving and studying abroad in Costa Rica and Hawaii. From 2000 to 2001, Jeff and his wife, Heather, became Del Sol's first interns. They went to one of Del Sol's first stores on the French-Dutch island of St. Maarten in the Eastern Caribbean. While living in a cockroach-infested, studio apartment on the French side of the island, they commuted to the store each day, where they realized the importance of giving a proper product demonstration to every customer who enters Del Sol's doors.
Already during Jeff's relatively short tenure at Del Sol, he has taken the company to become the largest color-change retailer in the world and the largest clothing retailer in the Caribbean. In 2001, he developed Del Sol's Internship Program, which recruits and trains interns and managers to ensure that every customer receives a true Del Sol Experience. Since then, Del Sol has staffed its stores with more than 500 interns from universities and businesses throughout the Western United States. Today, there are more than 100 Del Sol stores worldwide, including company-owned stores in the U.S., Mexico, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, and Alaska and independent stores in Europe, Canada, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Del Sol stores have also become one of the most highly promoted stores onboard the world's major cruise lines; including, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Princess, Celebrity, Disney and Norwegian Cruise Lines. In 2008, Jeff founded a new parent company, Pedersen Worldwide, to house its newly created brands and companies, Sol Kids and Cariloha, along with Del Sol. During this time frame, Jeff became the company's majority share holder and helped expand the company from 8 stores and 80 employees in 2001 to 110 stores and 830 employees worldwide and growing.
Del Sol and Jeff Pedersen are proud to be recognized in their industry. In 2006 and 2007, Jeff and Del Sol were named one of Utah's 40 under 40 Business Leaders by Utah Business Magazine and Chain Store Age, and the Western Region Winner in Retail for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2008, he and Del Sol were recognized as one of Utah's Top 100 Businesses and National Finalists in Retail for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Jeff graduated with his MBA from Pepperdine University and Summa Cum Laude from Westminster with his undergraduate degrees in business finance, economics and Spanish.
Today and in the future, Del Sol's leadership is committed to growing the top line of the business far greater than anyone had ever imagined before, flooding all international markets in cruise ship ports, airport terminals and five-star resorts. This unprecedented growth and expansion will continue to propel Del Sol to the upper echelon of the retail-experience economy.
Brent L. Rowser
Chief Financial Officer
Since 1998, Brent has transformed and overseen Del Sol's finance, accounting and operations, including manufacturing and distribution, store operations, information systems and technology. As architect of Del Sol's proprietary manufacturing automation system, he has seamlessly integrated Del Sol's supply chain from customer to manufacturer throughout the world.
He and his team have also worked with Microsoft as a premier beta site for the proprietary creation of data resources highly praised and integrated by Microsoft. He also coordinated the development and implementation of retail, point-of-sale systems throughout the Del Sol store network, providing the company with immediate access to transaction-level detail in all stores.
Brent graduated with his MBA from Brigham Young University and BS in accounting from Utah State University. He has worked as CFO, CTO and Controller for various companies, ranging from start-ups to corporations worth $500 million in annual sales.
Paul Fulton
Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Since 1999, Paul has overseen and executed the opening of nearly every Del Sol store worldwide. His efforts have taken Del Sol and its sister brands into the most exotic resorts and cruise ship ports throughout Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, the United States, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. He has been instrumental in revolutionizing Del Sol's regional sales operation, customer service departments, global sales training programs, international internship recruitment and local and international marketing-promotions strategies.
Under Paul's direction, Del Sol has expanded its store base to international airport terminals, world-class ski resorts, Mediterranean ports and European markets. He has also streamlined our stores' operating efficiencies, bolstering brand recognition through store build-outs, inventory controls and staff service.
Paul graduated with a BS in marketing from the University of Utah. He later returned to the University of Utah and graduated with an Executive MBA. He is an accomplished speaker, presenter, sales trainer and entrepreneur for Del Sol and its sister brands throughout the world.
