Key West Interns Find the Keys to Success!
Managers, Adam and Bonnie Wood, prove that leading by example is Key #1. They take goals and sales target seriously, and they make aggressive pushes to hit them. "Last month, we really wanted to hit $100,000 in sales. Each day we were determined to hit our daily goals to do it. If we were a couple hundred dollars away, we would stay later than our scheduled hours to reach our goals. On days that we had early cruise ships, we would begin our day at 8 a.m. to get a good head start."
Their extra hard work paid off. On the last day of June, they stayed open until 11 p.m., and they surpassed their $100,000 goal by $39. That's the highest month in sales Key West has had since 2007, and they've hit that goal two months in a row! They've also beat Average Dollar per Transaction levels that were set back in 2005. Every employee arrives to work each day with more Del Sol spirit than the day before - that's Key #2. When the interns leave Del Sol's corporate training at PWU, they arrive at the store filled with enthusiasm. That same energy hasn't worn off. Why? That's Key #3 - they set and accomplish goals every day.
Key #4 - The interns and managers added more guesthouses to the Hotel promotion program. They are close to the store, and the interns can look after them easily by popping out to see them when the store is less busy. They coordinate shifts to ensure that no-one gets burned out.Key West Sent June Sales into Orbit
