Del Sol Shirts and Shorts Get Dirty at ESPN’s Muddy Buddy Race
Beth and Sam Delis (Orlando Airport Store Managers) showed off Del Sol apparel in the Muddy Buddy Race at the ESPN Wide World of Sports® Complex in Orlando. Muddy Buddy is a fun, teams-of-two, 7-mile off-road race with 5 obstacles. This race takes place in 18 cities around the U.S. At the start of the race, one team member will run and one will ride a bike. At the first obstacle, the rider will drop the bike, complete the obstacle, and begin running. The runner will arrive, complete the obstacle, find his bike and begin riding. Teams will continue leapfrogging each other through the entire course. At the end of the race, racers crawl through the infamous Mud Pit crossing the finish line together as official “Muddy Buddies!”
Beth and Sam ran the race wearing Del Sol's Black Pirate Sword shirts and Offshore Board shorts. They thought about calling themselves "Team Del Sol" but team name "The Scurvy Dogs" sounded fiercer! The Scurvy Dogs crossed the finish line showing of Del Sol color-changing apparel covered in mud. Way to go, Sam and Beth! It’s a great example of looking for opportunities to get Del Sol exposure in races and events in other store locations. The race was a blast and earned free advertising!
