8th Annual Del Sol Golf Classic a hole-in-one success!

Each year, the Del Sol team dons its bag of clubs and spiky shoes for what's become one of the most popular company golf tournaments in the Salt Lake Valley. Upwards of 150 golfers attend the annual shotgun scramble at municipal courses, such as, Salt Lake's Old Mill, South Mountain, Ranches and Talon's Cove golf courses.

For the Del Sol Golf Classic, the excitement revolves around more than just a competitive round of 18 holes, it escalates dramatically during the traditional Captain's Putting Challenge, which awards golfers and charities with monetary prizes of $2,500 and upwards. This year's tournament awarded one individual with $5,000 for hitting a 50-foot putt and four others with $2,500 for hitting 30-foot putts. The prize money doesn't seem to dry up as fast as everyone's putting game; although multiple people end up winning $100 to $300 for sinking long putts. All in all, the Captain's Putting Challenge awarded somewhere in the 'golf park' of $25,000 to fortunate individuals, making for a spectacular day of fun under the sun at the golf course.
