Del Sol Receives Top 100 Business Award - Honored as One of Utah's Largest Private Companies

SANDY, Utah -- In May 2008, Utah Business Magazine recognized Del Sol as one of the largest private companies in Utah. The Utah Business Top 100 awards are given annually to the largest private companies in the state. This year, Del Sol ranked No. 41 on the list of largest private companies in the state, included in such company as Sinclair Oil, Mrs. Fields Cookie Company, Larry H. Miller Group, Intermountain Healthcare, and O.C. Tanner.

While Utah Business' annual list of Top 100 Private Companies is ranked by number of full-time employees, these businesses do much more than simply provide jobs to Utahns, said Marie Mischel of Utah Business Magazine. These companies construct your communities, educate your children, secure your finances, keep you healthy and provide you with a good meal, all while staying on top of their respective industries.

We're delighted to be recognized among this prestigious group of companies listed in Utah Business Magazine, said Jeff Pedersen, President and CEO of Del Sol, a Pedersen Worldwide Company. Our company continues to grow and expand in this great state. So much of what our company brings to its retail stores worldwide is a direct result of the outstanding employee recruitment, product technology and enduring history found right here at our headquarter home in Utah.

Ernst & Young, in its most recent "Entrepreneur of the Year" awards, awarded Del Sol as the Entrepreneur of the Year for Retail.

About the Company

When Del Sol first splashed onto the retail scene in 1994, only a handful of people were at its helm. They began selling color-changing T-shirts out of a small mall cart in Sandy, Utah. Realizing that there was boundless potential in the cruise port industry, Del Sol opened its first store in the U.S. Virgin Island's St. Thomas in 1997. Mastering the ability to market on cruise ships and to open anchor stores in popular ports-of-call and resort cities, Del Sol achieved a retail seniority status with stores in Aruba, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Barbados, St. Lucia, Jamaica, St. Thomas, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas, and more.

Today, the international company is soaking up the sun in over 100 locations throughout 12 countries. They have grown to become the world's largest retailer of merchandise that changes color in the sun, and the Caribbean's largest clothing retailer.
